As wintertime regulars in Lake Tahoe, it was only fitting that Lindsey and Chris would say their vows right at the base of Squaw Valley USA. They kicked off the weekend with an 80’s-themed ski day with family and friends, and neon was out in full force. I am pretty sure at least one mullet was grown out for this event alone.
If you love seeing the mountains covered in snow, winter is a great time to get married in near the lake. Among other perks, winter weddings in Lake Tahoe mean you can pack your skis along with your wedding dress. Tahoe is a great year-round destination that your wedding guests will never forget, and riding the chairlift with friends is an awesome way to catch up with everyone between laps down the mountain.
As far as Lake Tahoe wedding venues go, the PlumpJack Hotel is a great place to say ‘I do’. Being right at the base of the village means you are close to the lifts, and there are plenty of restaurant and entertainment options within easy walking distance. Lindsey and Chris were totally psyched to share their favorite mountain with friends and family, and I had a blast skiing backwards with my camera as a wave of one-piece ski suits, fanny packs, and retro headbands came carving my way!
The PlumpJack Hotel in Squaw Valley is one of the best places to get married in North Lake Tahoe. The up-and-coming Gray’s Crossing wedding venue is also a great choice, as is Martis Camp in Truckee!
