Lake Tahoe Venues :: A review of Weddings at the Resort at Squaw Creek

One of the pleasures of being a Lake Tahoe Wedding photographer is the opportunity to look backward as much as my clients are looking forward. In my case, I spent many formative years in the Lake Tahoe area. Back then, summer photography was more about grabbing the underwater point-and-shoot camera and diving off the side of the boat. Squaw Valley wedding photography at some of the world’s most breath-taking wedding venues was far from my mind.

The first time I rode up a chairlift at Squaw Valley was in the winter of 1992. I was 13 years old. Born into a family of dedicated skiers, my earliest winters were spent slipping and sliding around on the slopes of Val d’Isere and Flaine in the French Alps. My first day at Squaw Valley, I might have been in any of the greater ranges of the world. The peaks were jagged and the runs were steep.

Among all the classic wedding venues of Lake Tahoe, the award-winning, luxury destination Resort at Squaw Creek stands out as a Squaw Valley wedding photographer’s ideal wedding photography venue. Located in a remote valley, encompassing 915 forested hillside acres at the base of Squaw Valley USA, a wedding at the Resort at Squaw Creek is a special event surrounded by natural beauty. Featuring 405 luxury guest rooms and suites, four incredible restaurants, three outdoor swimming pools, outdoor hot tubs,  a luxury spa, salon and fitness center, the Resort at Squaw Creek is a wedding venue offering an incredible mountain resort adventure. Tennis courts and an 18 hole championship golf course round out the mind-boggling list of activities available to you during your stay.

The Resort at Squaw Creek offers numerous ceremony sites and reception locations. Experienced wedding consultants offer superior planning advice to make your wedding day run as smoothly as it should, and their in-house wedding caterers offer only the best food and beverage selections. Part of planning a Lake Tahoe wedding is knowing that you and your guests will be inspired by the spectacular Sierra Nevada mountains. At the Resort at Squaw Creek, that personal adventure takes a relaxing turn, making it a unique and highly desired location for Lake Tahoe Weddings.
