As far as settings go, Lake Tahoe is simply breathtaking. As a Lake Tahoe wedding photographer, I am constantly on the lookout for new engagement session locations and Lake Tahoe wedding venues. An ‘old soul in Tahoe’s history’, the Zephyr Cove Resort has been around since 1862. Owing to it’s incredible shoreline location in the southeast corner of Lake Tahoe, weddings at Zephyr Cove can be as casual or as sophisticated as you’d like. From a South Lake Tahoe wedding photography perspective, the close proximity to Lake Tahoe and surrounding groves of Sierra pines and Aspens are ideal.
With the choice of a wedding ceremony on the beach or on the lawn, the Zephyr Cove venue offers flexibility in locations as well as wedding and special event services. The Resort itself is a great place for friends and family to stay before, during and after the wedding itself. The full-service marina makes getting out on Lake Tahoe to play quick and effortless, and if something bigger sounds more appealing, Lake Tahoe Cruises offers several options. You can opt for a ‘matrimonial voyage’ aboard the 70 foot Tahoe Princess, the 85 foot luxury yacht the Tahoe Paradise, or on the authentic 144 foot Tahoe Queen, a Mississippi-built paddlewheeler. Accommodating guests up to 120 and 450, respectively, these boats have room to spare. But even if they didn’t, you could book the Zephyr cove’s very own M.S. Dixie, a modern version of the paddlewheeler that will carry 550 of your best friends and family. Ahoy matey!
Wedding photography options abound at this Lake Tahoe Wedding venue, and when it comes to Lake Tahoe wedding event planners, the coordinators at the Zephyr Cove Resort are equipped to participate as much or as little in the planning of your day as you would like. The wedding catering and menu options are many. From passed hors d’oeuvres to buffet style, from mouth-watering plated dinners to casual BBQ celebrations before or after your Lake Tahoe Wedding, you’ll no doubt be impressed with all aspects of their wedding catering services. As for me, I’ll take the Portobello Mushroom Lasagna.
