Northstar at Tahoe :: A Wedding Venue Review

Northstar at Tahoe is not the same resort I knew as a kid. Of all the Lake Tahoe resorts and wedding venues in the area, Northstar is where I spent the most time growing up. Year after year, winter vacations and ski weeks in the spring were spent on the slopes of what is now one of Lake Tahoe’s premier wedding venues and resort locations. As a Lake Tahoe Wedding Photographer, my ears perked up when I heard of all the changes.

Over the last several years, one of Lake Tahoe’s finest wedding ceremony and wedding photography venues got even better. The 3,000 acre resort renovated the “Village at Northstar”, adding new shops, photography galleries, jewelry boutiques, restaurants and a 9,000 square-foot ice skating rink. As a wedding photographer, these are all additions that only make for a more colorful backdrop to a wedding celebration. Lake Tahoe engagement photography session on the ice rink before your Lake Tahoe Wedding ceremony? You got it. I knew how to ice skate as a kid. I’m sure I could stay on my skates trying to follow you guys around. It’s still just ice, right?

The Northstar at Tahoe Summer Wedding Packages for 2011 look awesome. As Tahoe wedding venues go, Northstar offers a healthy variety of options. You can choose between three main sites: the Overlook Pavilion, the Lodge at Big Springs and the Martis Valley Grille. The Overlook and Lodge at Big Springs wedding sites offer space for up to 150 wedding guests. The Martis Valley Grille wedding site accommodates up to 75. With complimentary parking, complimentary transportation and discounted room rates for all your wedding guests, Northstar at Tahoe has your wedding guests’ convenience in mind. A professional Lake Tahoe Event and Wedding Planner is included in all wedding bookings, and wedding rehearsal time is included as well.

Some of my fondest childhood memories are of winter days on the slopes at Northstar at Tahoe. As a wedding venue, the resort still makes me excited. The wedding photography options are practically limitless. With a colorful mountain village setting at the base of the mountain and the beautiful backdrop of forest-covered peaks in the background, the setting for some of the best wedding photography in Lake Tahoe is right there waiting for you.

We hope this brief tour of Northstar at Tahoe offers useful information to help you choose a wedding venue for your celebration. If you’re still searching, you might also consider the Valhalla Estate, or Resort at Squaw Creek, both fantastic options.
