Shauna and Orlando’s wedding was a true highlight of this wedding season. The botanic gardens provided a rich, green backdrop to their cool, calm and casual Southern California wedding, and the vibrant colors of the bridal party resonated with the energy of everyone there. What a great wedding to turn into a sample album!
First of all, I chose a Zookbinders ‘Zookbook’. The Zookbook album is incredible. Available in a multitude of sizes from 5″x 5″ to 10″x 15″, this album is a beautiful, lay-flat panoramic design. In the larger sizes the pages are either 12″ or 15″ wide. That means that if you do a full spread across two pages, you have an image that is over 2 feet wide. Awesome.
I opted for their new “Reflectionz” cover, which is only available for the larger sized albums. A thick, durable and impact-resistant cover, the Reflectionz cover not only protects the album, it showcases a full-size image that appears to ‘pop’ right out at you. Definitely an eye-catcher.
My favorite aspects of the Zookbook? The pages are thick and durable, but the gilded edges and rounded corners are a delicate detail that make it a pleasing page-turner. The pages lay completely flat and there is just a small 1/16″ gap in the center. Options? In addition to the Reflectionz cover, there are heaps of options to choose from. ‘Standard’, ‘glove’, ‘napa’ and ‘distressed’ leather let you choose between leathers that are smooth, fuzzy or pebbled. You can get a small ‘cameo’ picture on the cover, your names and the date imprinted on the front, or a nice, clean, classy full leather cover.
I also ordered a mini “Photobook” album to accompany the parent album. A perfect gift for parents and other relatives, the Photobook is a smaller clone of the same design. You can see pictures of the Photobook towards the bottom of this post. The print quality of these pieces is superb, and they come in a variety of sizes, from 4″x 4″ up to 7.5″x 7.5″.
