Wendy & Abe: A Northstar-at-Tahoe Wedding

Wendy and Abe’s Northstar at Tahoe wedding has already been added to my ‘Best of 2011′ list. When I met up with them earlier this summer for their Lake Tahoe Engagement photography session, I was fascinated with the ceremony they were planning. Bringing together the rites of two different religions, their wedding promised to celebrate the best of both Christian and Jewish wedding traditions.

A ride up the gondola to Northstar’s mid-mountain venue put everyone slope-side for a ceremony overlooking the hills and meadows of Martis Valley. If one officiant is good, two is even better. At one moment a Jewish wedding and a Christian wedding the next, Wendy and Abe’s unique ceremony was living proof that different religious backgrounds can creatively co-exist when a couple decides to tie the knot.

Back down in Northstar’s Village, friends and family showed how the partying is really done. Northstar’s event and catering staff helped the day flow smoothly. Julie Matises of A Rose is a Rose created a gorgeous array of bouquets, bouttonieres and floral arrangements. And Lake Tahoe DJ Ryan Palmer kept the dance floor bumpin’ until the very last track.

Wendy and Abe, it was such a pleasure meeting and working with you both and an honor to photograph such an important day in your lives!
