COMMON QUESTIONS

We are getting married in Tahoe, but we live somewhere else. Is there any way to meet?

Absolutely! The vast majority of couples who select me don’t live in Tahoe, and they usually do so without an in-person meeting. I can answer just about any question you might have via email. Similarly, we can also set up an informal phone chat to discuss wedding plans and photography options. We can even do this over Skype, FaceTime, or a Zoom meeting.

We’re not used to having our picture taken. How can you help us on the wedding day?

Typically, this concern resolves itself quickly and easily as soon as we meet. Brides and grooms say I am about as laid back and even-keeled as they come. At weddings, I generally blend into the scene without any trouble at all. Sometimes I fall back and shoot with a long lens. On the other hand, I may also get close with a wide-angle lens when I feel it will make for a better photo.

In order to compose certain key photos, I will occasionally give some guidance or make a recommendation. Usually, this is while photographing the posed portraits of you with your families. It also applies to photographing portraits of the two of you. The process is easy. All you have to do is be yourself. With simple direction, I will take care of the rest.

Your wedding photography style seems very candid and unrehearsed. Are you able to work alongside videographers?

Certainly. It is worth mentioning that my list of preferred videographers has been carefully curated over the years. Many couples consider hiring a videographer. However, they don’t want their wedding to start feeling like a movie set. If this sounds like you, let’s talk. I can make some recommendations and share some helpful advice. The best videographers will be able to document your day unobtrusively. They will allow you to enjoy your big day in a natural, organic way.

Do you travel for weddings?

Yes! The majority of the weddings I photograph are in Lake Tahoe and Northern California. But I typically travel outside of California for a number of weddings each year. Where are you planning to get married? Let’s talk!

Can we do engagement photos outside of Lake Tahoe?

Definitely. Please email or call to discuss locations, options, and dates.

How many photos will we get?

The number of images you receive depends on the number of hours I shoot. For the majority of wedding days, you should plan on 70-100 images per hour that I shoot. For all-inclusive packages or longer days, you should expect more.

When will our photos be ready, and how do we see them?

I want you to get your photos as soon as possible. Equally important is that every photo looks the best it can. Please allow 10 weeks for me to fully edit and upload to your private online wedding gallery.

When your photos are ready, I will get in touch. A link will direct you to an online gallery where you can instantly view all of your wedding photos. These photos are the same ones that you will be able to download.

If your wedding guests (or anyone who was not at the wedding) would like to order prints for themselves, they can do so directly from the gallery, without having to order through you.

Do we get copies of the photos?

High-resolution images (files) are included with every Chris Werner Photography wedding package. The photos that you receive will be the same as the photos that you see on your website. These photos are ready to print, and you may print them wherever you like. If you are receiving an album, these file will be available to download as soon as you have chosen your album photos.

What about albums?

Clicking through photos on a computer screen is fine for vacation snapshots, but these are your wedding photos. Though I trust that every couple will back up their digital files regularly, nothing compares to the lasting value of a handcrafted book with your favorite photos. Sitting down together to relive your wedding day with a professionally-designed, beautifully printed album is better than a computer screen any day.

I design custom wedding albums with photos that you choose. These books are carefully handmade by a company in the USA. The build of these books is guaranteed. Moreover, premium materials ensure that it will become a family heirloom to be passed from one generation to the next.

How do we hire you?

If I am available for your wedding, let’s figure out what kind of coverage will serve you best. Let me know if one of the standard packages doesn’t quite fit what your needs. I want to provide the best coverage for your wedding that I can. With this in mind, we can customize any of the standard packages. I am confident we can put something together that will be just right for you and your wedding day.

Once we determine your coverage, I will email you a contract. A signed contract and 50% retainer reserve the date. The balance will be due 14 days before the wedding.

Anything else?

If you have read through the all these common wedding questions this far, thank you for trying to learn as much as possible about who I am and what I do!

The flavors of the food and the sounds of the dance floor may fade a little over time, but the photos will always remain as a reminder of your incredible day. To sum up, choosing the right photographer is an important decision. If you have questions, please get in touch. I would love the opportunity to get to know you better and share a little more about how I might photograph your big day!
