Donner Summit Engagement Photos: Taylor + Jordan

Taylor and Jordan will be getting married in Tahoe next summer! To capture some of the natural beauty of the area, we met up on the side of a mountain high above Donner Lake. As the storm clouds rolled through,  we had a great time hiking around and exploring the rock formations of Donner Summit.

Years ago, I might hesitate to meet a couple on Donner Summit if a thunderstorm was in the forecast. These days, I grab a rain jacket and head right out the door. In the end, it always pays off. For one thing, summer storms in the Sierra don’t last that long. More importantly, the dramatic clouds and theatrical light always make for more beautiful photos. I loved so many photos from this session. So, I had not choice! I had to put together a slideshow with some of my favorites.
