These photos from Basia and Matt’s High Camp Squaw Valley wedding are a throwback to an amazing celebration. Not to mention, a reminder and preview of the parties we hope to be enjoying again soon. This event is also a good example for anyone wanting a Catholic wedding in Lake Tahoe. Although there aren’t many Catholic wedding venues in Tahoe, Saint Francis of Assisi church is a popular option for brides and grooms wanting a traditional church ceremony.

More often than not, a couple will combine a Catholic church ceremony with a reception at another location. This way you get the best of both worlds. It is worth noting that this strategy does require additional driving and transportation time for everyone. But after all it is your wedding day. So, why not customize the celebration and check off all the boxes? One of my favorite things about a wedding at this Lake Tahoe Catholic church is the longer ceremony time. There is a lot of natural light in this church, and the additional time allows me to photograph more unique moments throughout the ceremony. Moreover, the photography rules at this venue are more relaxed than at most Catholic churches. For you, this means more photos from better angles.

Basia and Matt share a beautiful chemistry that I believe shines through in these photos. I loved capturing their glances throughout the ceremony. They also spent a lot of time on the dance floor enjoying the party with all their guests. Isaac Freed from Music in Tahoe always puts on a great show. If you want an insane party, find out if he is available for your wedding!

Like Basia and Matt, this couple also married at a church and then celebrated on the mountain at their High Camp reception. And although this local couple actually married on the west shore, their Squaw Valley engagement photos were a great success. In fact, one of the photos from their session won a Squaw Valley Engagement photo award!
