Lindsey and Chris are wintertime regulars in Lake Tahoe. Therefore, it makes perfect sense that they said their vows in Olympic Valley. They kicked off their Olympic Valley winter wedding weekend with an 80’s-theme ski day with family and friends. My theory is that everyone visited the local thrift shop at least once. Either that, or they found some vintage closet treasures at home! It goes without saying that neon was out in full force. I am pretty sure at least one person grew out a mullet solely for this event.

If you love seeing the mountains in winter, this is a great time for a wedding in Tahoe. Among other perks, winter weddings in Lake Tahoe mean you can pack your skis along with your wedding dress. In addition, riding the chairlift with friends is an awesome way to catch up with everyone between laps on the mountain. Even if your wedding guests don’t ski, there are tons of other activities.Tahoe is a great year-round destination that your wedding guests will always remember.

As far as Lake Tahoe wedding venues go, the PlumpJack Hotel is a great place to say ‘I do’. Being right at the base of the village means you are close to the lifts. And there are plenty of restaurant and entertainment options within easy walking distance. Lindsey and Chris were totally psyched to share their favorite mountain with friends and family. Needless to say, I had a blast skiing backwards with my camera as a wave of one-piece ski suits, fanny packs, and retro headbands came carving my way!

Olympic Valley PlumpJack weddings are one of the best ways to say ‘I Do’ in North Lake Tahoe. For an up-and-coming venue, consider a Gray’s Crossing wedding. Or even a Martis Camp wedding in Truckee!
