The Lodge at Tahoe Donner continues to be one of my favorite places to photograph weddings in Tahoe. Above all, everything is in one convenient location. This means you get to spend more time with everyone at your wedding. Compared to ceremony and reception at separate venues, a Tahoe Donner wedding helps make your event way more relaxed. A little peace of mind certainly goes a long way on a wedding day.
Many couples have a family home somewhere in Tahoe Donner or somewhere else in North Lake Tahoe. If your family has a place in Tahoe Donner, you can schedule hair and makeup there. Afterwards, head to The Lodge and forget about any more transportation issues. The chef here is top-notch. And the catering team is incredibly courteous and efficient. Whenever someone asks me about awesome Tahoe venues, I tell them about Tahoe Donner weddings.
In addition to their Saturday wedding at the Tahoe Donner Lodge, I photographed their welcome BBQ at Donner Lake’s West End Beach on Friday. I attended their post-wedding brunch on Sunday too. Photographing three fun events in three days not only meant that I became more familiar with them, but that all of their wedding guests became that much more familiar with me.
For an intimate, outdoor wedding in Tahoe, this venue is hard to beat. Alison and Mark were incredible hosts, and I am sure their wedding guests will remember this beautiful summer celebration for a long time.
