Dancing Pines is a magical & secluded riverside venue
The first time I photographed a wedding at Dancing Pines, I was blown away. I wish I had known about this beautiful venue in Truckee when I got married! The property is a bit off the beaten path, but that’s part of its charm.
Since there are no accommodations on-site, most couples and their wedding guests stay in North Lake Tahoe. Truckee is a great place to find a hotel or vacation rental. As you head north, away from the busy interstate and summertime traffic, you enter a peaceful sanctuary among the pine trees. This is where you can create your perfect woodsy Lake Tahoe wedding for up to 150 guests.
One of the best things about Dancing Pines is how well Liz, the owner, has designed the space. The riverside ceremony site is just steps from the reception patio. This makes transitions throughout the day effortless, without guests wondering where to go or what will happen next. Liz is also the resident wedding coordinator. Everyone loves her friendly, detail-oriented approach. She has a gifted ability to keep everything on track and help make your wedding a success.
As the late afternoon sunlight filters through the trees, I recommend taking a walk by the river. This is a quiet, peaceful spot to take a moment away from the party and soak it all in. If you are up for a quick drive, there is a secret spot up the road that overlooks the meadows. This is another perfect location for a few sunset photos before the stars come out.
