A city boy married a country girl at this Chapel of Our Lady wedding in San Francisco. You can find this unique, historic church in the cultural heart of the Presidio. If you have never been, the Presidio is a national park site that starts at the Southern end of the Golden Gate Bridge. Formerly a military base, it is now a major destination for outdoor recreation in San Francisco. There are forested areas, miles of trails, a golf course and scenic overlooks of the bridge and Pacific Ocean.
Vyria and Mike’s day started and finished at the San Francisco Italian Athletic Club. Vyria’s bridesmaids helped her get ready as Mike arrived for their first look. As one of her biggest wedding-day cheerleaders, Vyria’s mom could hardly contain herself. She was ever-attentive during Vyria’s bridal preparations. I loved seeing both her and Vyria’s dad beaming as they walked her down the aisle.
Being in one of the world’s busier cities, the logistics of a San Francisco wedding are a little different from a mountain Lake Tahoe wedding. But I love that Vyria and Mike wanted to spend some time exploring the forest around the church after the ceremony. The courtyard around the Chapel of Our Lady is a small but natural setting for photos as well.
