I photographed these engagement photos at Chimney Beach on a calm and peaceful spring afternoon. Since I will be shooting this couple’s wedding this summer at the Ritz Carlton, they wanted an opportunity to meet in person and get some candid portraits before the big day.

Best Places for Engagement Photos in Tahoe

Among the best places for engagement photos in Tahoe, Chimney Beach is one of my favorites. I often recommend this location because the beautiful afternoon light is consistent and totally worth the short hike. And it only gets better as the sun sets. This trail makes for a fun hike down to the water, with many great photo opportunities along the way.

Needless to say, we can all feel a bit self-conscious in front of the camera. Even us photographers! With that in mind, I like to keep these engagement photoshoots casual and fun.

In addition to getting to know me and how I shoot, it can be fun exploring a beautiful location here in Tahoe. Your photos will be a collection of candid portraits that highlight your personalities, your unique connection, and the natural beauty of Lake Tahoe.
