I looked forward to Katie and Rob’s PlumpJack Squaw wedding for a long time. To explain, let’s rewind. By the time we finished their engagement session last summer, the sun had set. Lake Tahoe glowed with the famous alpenglow of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Meanwhile, Rob reached into the trunk of his car and flipped open a cooler. He popped the caps off three microbrews and handed one over to me. Our discussion about skiing Squaw Valley on a powder day kept rolling without missing a beat. I wish my friends were this cool!
That afternoon, they told me about the professional origins of their relationship (they both work at Apple in Cupertino). In fact, Rob even shared that he knew right away that Katie was about as rad as they come. Among many other things, their love of skiing brings them back to Tahoe year after year. Obviously, it makes perfect sense all of this would factor into their wedding day plans somehow.
First, everyone rode the tram up to Squaw Valley’s High Camp. Katie and Rob exchanged their vows with a ceremony at one of the most scenic wedding venues in Lake Tahoe. Then they switched to ski boots and skied down to a gorgeous reception at the PlumpJack Squaw Valley Resort. After dinner and toasts, everyone moved upstairs where a thumping dance party (Notorious is one of the best cover bands in Tahoe) ensued at the PlumpJack Squaw Valley resort.
To be sure, this PlumpJack Squaw Valley wedding was worth the wait!
