As it turns out, the first time I meet a bride and groom is often here in Lake Tahoe. This is typically the week before the big day. Such was the case with Annelise and Ian, who came up to Tahoe several days ahead of their Tahoe South Lake wedding. You might think this could be a perfect little mini-vacation, a pre-honeymoon of sorts. Considering you’ve finished all the planning, why not get some R & R before the festivities?
But most folks wind up way busier than they thought. There are inevitably a few loose ends to be tied up. Even the most organized couple will get into town and realize that a sizeable to-do list still remains.
Surprisingly, when we met for coffee that week, Annelise and Ian stated their agenda for the week ahead. “Absolutely nothing.” I figured either they have advanced degrees in wedding planning, or they simply have their priorities straight.
As it turns out it was the latter. When I saw them again that weekend, they were completely mellowed out. In fact, they were as relaxed as island melons from an awesome week by the lake. Essentially, they had hung out at the beach and soaked up some rays. As waves of wedding guests rolled into town, they simply styled it. No stress, no strain, no anxiety. Which basically means that in my book, we could all learn a thing or two from these guys.
Annelise and Ian’s Zephyr Cove wedding day was surely the icing on the cake for these guys, and their entire team threw a heck of party!
In addition to weddings, Chris Werner is available for Truckee engagement photos. If you are planning a wedding in Tahoe City or a West Shore Cafe wedding, he can help!
